This highly elaborate Tibetan style chest has been carefully handmade and decorated in Nepal. Shaped in an unusual frustum shape, the front of the chest has a design of Cheppu and the top of the chest has been painted with an endless knot pattern. It opens up making the box perfect for storing jewellery or other precious items. Regarded as being brave and fearsome, Cheppu is one of three powerful brothers and is seen regularly in Nepalese architecture, guarding the way above doors, arches and gateways.
