A stunning large scale carving of the popular Hindu god Ganesh. This wonderful piece has been crafted from rich dark wood by talented artisans in Newari, Nepal. Ganesh is a very popular Hindu god, and is known as the 'remover of obstacle', deva of intellect and wisdom and as the patron of the Arts and Sciences. He is easily identified by his elephant head. A figure with the trunk of the left side is believed to represent Ida Nadi which is 'lunar energy', more feminine and nourishing, and therefore ideal for having in the home.
