Mayan Flask

This small flask is known as a 'poison bottle' and would have been used to hold healing ointments and medicines. This style of flask is often stamped or carved with various designs, and this one features a warrior wearing a jaguar mask. Jaguar warriors were a high class Aztec military unit made up of men who had proven themselves on the battlefield with a focus on being adept at capturing enemy soldiers.
