Mayan Life and Death Mask

These fascinating masks are based upon those found in burial caches at Teotihuacan, the great metropolis of the early Mesoamericans. The city reached its peak around 500AD and these eerie death masks showed the serene and accepting relationship that these ancient civilizations had with death. Each mask has been carefully hand crafted in Jalisco, Mexico.
